Frank Amato

Frank is an experienced angel investor and entrepreneur in the distributed ledger and blockchain space. Leveraging his experience in the financial services industry as a trader, Frank helps startups navigate regulatory scenarios and other complex assumption paths. His interest developed following a purchase of Bitcoin as part of the 2014 US Marshals auction of Silk Road coins.  Frank is an original member of Blockchain Capitals angellist syndicate and the co-founder of Block5, an early stage investment and advisory firm. Frank is also the official advisor to the LBMA (London Bullion Metals Association) on Blockchain. Prior to forming Block5, Frank spent 17 years in JP Morgan’s commodity trading group. He successfully built JPM’s Platinum Group Metals business in London and then served as a Senior Metals derivatives trader for Asia based in Singapore.



Nisa Amoils has been an early stage investor for the past decade. She was previously with Scout Ventures in New York. She is the author of the bestselling book “WTF is Happening? Women Tech Founders on the Rise” which makes the business case for investing in women that are building with disruptive technologies such as Blockchain. She is a former securities lawyer and on the Boards of several institutions including Wharton Entrepreneurship and the Institute for Blockchain Innovation. She writes for Forbes and Blockchain Magazine and is a regular on CNBC, MSNBC, Fox, Cheddar and others. Prior to investing, she was an entrepreneur and spent many years in business development at companies like Time Warner and NBC Universal and worked with many start-ups. She holds a business degree from the University of Michigan and a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania.


Jon Deane

Jon has over 15 years managing global markets businesses, as well as individually managing large complex risk positions, for international investment banks including JP Morgan and UBS AG. Over the course of his career he was Managing Director, Head of Asia Commodities Trading for JP Morgan, based out of Singapore, focused primarily on physical bullion, financial energy, metals and agricultural derivatives. Prior to this he was based in London, as Managing Director of a vanilla and exotic derivatives trading business for just under a decade, with a team based in New York, Singapore and London. Outside of risk management, he also brings considerable exposure working closely with regulators across opaque markets as well as developing new product offerings in difficult jurisdictions. More recently, Jon has been an active investor in the Blockchain industry where he to sees significant application across financial markets and commodities. Most recently he was the lead advisor to InfiniGold and the Perth Mint for their blockchain initiative, as well as working closely with Digital Currency Holdings on a range of DLT projects. Jon holds a number of personal investments focused on blockchain solutions for traditional financial services, as well as the commodity industry.

John Morris is a 20-year veteran of the highly volatile North American electricity markets. He managed trading desks for AIG Trading, PG&E, Sempra Energy and Money Management Group, before founding and successfully exiting a commodity hedge fund and a utility-scale solar development business (ultimately acquired by DE Shaw). John is an early crypto enthusiast, who began investing in both private and public blockchains on a proprietary basis from 2013. John is a senior advisor to (a quantitative crypto trading fund, based in Los Angeles) and is the Chief Strategy Officer for OTCXN (an institutional grade crypto trading and custody platform, based in San Francisco).


Steve Bellotti

Steve Bellotti has an extensive track record in building and running large, complex Global Markets and Loans businesses and has proven to be a very effective risk taker/manager, leader and investor across global financial markets. He has worked in leadership roles in financial markets for over 30 years across all major asset classes – managing fixed income (including rates, credit and derivatives), foreign exchange, cash equities and derivatives, debt and equity capital markets, including both sales and trading at the Managing Director level for over 22 years. He has built a number of large complex global markets operations for global banks, including Merrill Lynch and Dresdner Kleinwort in London, New York, Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore. Steve’s most recent role was MD – Global Markets & Institutional Loans, ANZ Bank (managing over AUD$300b in assets); and MD – Head of Global Markets, Dresdner Kleinwort Group. He also has a deep knowledge of real estate and private equity investing.


Ari Lewis

Ari is a recognized expert and thought leader in the cryptocurrency and blockchain community. He is regularly requested to speak at industry conferences and has been quoted in VentureBeat, Crain’s Cleveland, Financial Times, Forbes, Wall Street Journal, Hedge Fund Alert and Business Insider. Ari was the the co-founder of Grasshopper Capital and was the managing partner of Fund I. He is also the co-founder and managing director of The Sherman Group, a communication, public affairs and public relations firm for blockchain companies. While at the Sherman Group, he was hired as a cryptocurrency advisor to the State of Ohio’s Treasurer’s office. As part of this mandate he was responsible for helping Ohio become the first state in the US to accept bitcoin for tax.

Bob has over 25 years of experience managing businesses for leading financial institutions and asset managers, including Barclays Capital, Bank Austria Creditanstalt, Man Investments and ANZ Bank.  Most recently, Bob was the Head of Business Management for the Global Markets and Institutional Loans division of ANZ Bank. From 1999 until 2007, he was based in London and Chicago as COO within Man Investments, a US$60bn alternative investment manager listed on the LSE.  His roles included Co-Head of Man Global Strategies (MGS), an autonomous multi-strategy investment management division which seeded and developed emerging hedge funds (US$17bn AUM); and COO / Investment Committee Member of Glenwood, a top-tier US-based Fund of Hedge Funds (US$5bn AUM). Bob is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and has also been directly involved in a number of early stage ventures, from start-up phase through to IPO.



Fred is general counsel of global investment management businesses. Previously Head of Compliance for ANZ Bank’s Markets and Institutional Divisions, based in Hong Kong. Formerly a partner at Ashurst; Head of Legal & Policy, Market Supervision, Australian Securities & Investments Commission; and Head of Legal, Trading, Australian Stock Exchange. Georgetown Law graduate.

Kosta is a banking professional with significant experience at top tier global firms, possessing both commercial acumen and disciplined delivery from working in Global Markets across frontline and support roles. Kosta has a record of delivering business results through successful strategy formulation and delivery of business and process improvements while also driving efficiencies to manage operational risk.

Prior to joining the sell-side he was a Management Consultant at Accenture with a track record for the successful delivery of large transformational projects through the various stages of a project life cycle.
